Happy last day of the month!!
I know that many of you are still running for your March goals. If so, keep on running! When we run for a goal, we ALWAYS end up further along than we would have been if we hadn’t set the goal. You know the old adage about shooting for the moon…..
You never know what sale or future team member could be on the other side of a phonecall or text/Messenger message today (especially when you feel like giving up). It’s often when we take that extra action step that the Heavens and/or the Universe reward us with the results we’re seeking.
Today, I wanted to share with you a timely message from one of my favorite books: Marie Forleo’s, Everything is Figureoutable. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it. (There are a few swear words…just so you know.)
It is based on the lesson that Marie learned from her mom…that everything is figureoutable. This book has a lot of great nuggets, as well as actionable items and questions at the end of each chapter to help you apply the lessons. As a dancer myself, one of my favorite parts is how Marie relates her learning to not only dance, but teach dance, so she was ready when the opportunity appeared to be one of Nike’s elite dance athletes.
In your business, you have to figure things out! From how to motivate your team, to how to find new customers, to how to create team momentum, to how to make the money you know you can make…there a lot of things to figure out.
Approaching challenges in your business from the “everything is figureoutable” perspective is exactly the OPPOSITE of being overwhelmed. It’s focusing on solutions instead of feeling lost and confused.
Let me give you an example…
Have you ever felt overwhelmed? Hopefully I’m not the only one.
As a female business owner, there are SO many things to handle, take care of, manage and figure out that it can consume us. I, for one, hate dropping balls. I try to keep them all up in the air, juggling more of them faster and faster, until sometimes they all hit the floor and I want to pull the covers over my head and play Wordscapes on my phone all day!
This actually happened to me recently.
Luckily, my mom always taught me that “everything looks better in the morning.” When I woke up the next morning, the idea running through my head was Marie’s “everything is figureoutable.” It was a total 180 degree turn from the feeling of overwhelm I had the night before.
When you adopt this “everything is figureoutable” mantra, it changes how you look at situations. Instead of feeling like throwing your hands up, you approach challenges with a surety that somehow, someway you will be able to figure out a solution. You might need to learn something new, ask for help from your support team or explore options from different angles.
If you know there’s at least one solution out there, you’ll be looking for it. It may not be the one you expected, but if you’re open, you’ll see it.
Try this approach the next time an obstacle arises.
If you have a challenge with a customer, look at it from the “everything is figureoutable” mindset. When it’s the last day of the month and your goal seems far away…same thing. Try it. This method of looking at your to-do list, business challenge or hurdle in the road is really powerful. Let me know what happens when you give it a try.
For me, it was definitely a divine answer that morning…shifting me from my place of overwhelm and hiding to a place of empowerment.
And…speaking of empowerment. Tomorrow begins a new month, a fresh start.
If this month ends up a little less stellar than you hoped, everything is figureoutable! I have no doubt that you can start April with a fresh mindset, new goals, new approaches and accomplish the results you’re looking for…and are capable of!
